We’ve been having quite the influx of visitors, for which I can thank cracked.com. Since I love that site myself, I’m flattered to have shown up in one of their articles!

I’d stopped posting new Victorian Porn Fridays since I wasn’t getting much response. Finally, we’re all caught up to where we should be! The excerpt today is from Memoirs of a Young Rakehell. Yes, I’ve been slacking, and I let several weeks slip by without bringing you any Victorian porn. I’m sorry. I was going to make up excuses about how crazy my life has been recently, but my life is always somewhat crazy, so I decided to just be honest and say I’ve been busy writing. That’s still not an excuse for not making the posts, but at least it’s honest. So, let’s get caught up, and I’ll backdate the next entries as they get posted until we’re where we should be.

For this entry let’s do something a little different. I got my hands on an old book from the 1920′s, arguing against the use of birth control. I couldn’t help but be amused by it, and I’m going to share some passages with you. There’s nothing particularly filthy and it doesn’t require the usual “18+ only” disclaimer, but I’m going to put it behind a cut just for length.

Fanny Hill, being written in 1749, is the oldest porn novel I have. The spelling, grammar, and style are noticeably different from novels written just fifty years or more later. Although I find later novels more easily readable due to their similarity to current writing, Fanny Hill is still accessible enough to be a pleasant read.
